We have been organizing this Viimase Öö Unistus race since 2010. We got the idea of organizing it in Athens airport after running Spartathlon. We thought that it would be really nice to organize an ultramarathon race in Estonia as the nature is so beautiful. Somehow our ideas went to the New Year`s Eve. We thought that instead of partying, watching TV, drinking or doing what people normally do, it would be a lot nicer to run in a snowy forest and in the candle light to the new year. The first year was very nice, also the second and of course the third! This time we had broke the participants record thanks to 36 Latvians! :) It ment more organizing and also the weather man sent us some difficulties by the rain and ice on the track, but we did our best we could. And Latvians high class results show to us, the organizers, that it was well done! :) And also we liked a lot that this time it wasn`t only spending nice time running in the forest, but also there was a serious competition. And we are proud that so many participants did come to run ultra marathon there. And the best feedback for was of course the smiling faces of the runners and volunteers!
