The Spartan Runners and the Spartan General Assembly with the support of the Municipality of Sparta and the Region of Peloponnese (P.E. of Laconia), co-organize in Sparta Lakonia on February 15 and 16, 2025 the 4 ^οSparta City Ultra which includes three events.

• 6-hour race
• 12-hour race
• 24-hour race with intermediate time trial at 100 miles ( 160,935Km)

Moving Hours – Ends

6 hours : Starting Time 10:00 (Sunday 16/02/2025) – End Time 16:00 (Sunday 16/02/2025)

12 hours : Starting Time 17:00 (Saturday 15/02/2025) – End Time 05:00 (Sunday 16/02/2025)

24 hours : Start Time 17:00 (Saturday 15/02/2025) – End Time 17:00 (Sunday 16/02/2025)

The start in all three races will take place a few meters after the statue of King Leonidas in front of the Municipal Stadium of Sparta. The runners will descend for 400 meters on the central Avenue of Sparta Konstantinos Palaiologos, and after turning to a designated point, they will again climb for 400 meters from the opposite stream of Konstantinos Palaiologos. So a full cycle of struggles will be exactly 822 meters. Winners of course will be the ones who will make the most mileage during the race they participate.

Terms of Participation

Men and female athletes who have reached 18 ^οyears of age on the day of the race have the right to participate.

Runners participate at their own sole responsibility and should have been examined by a doctor before their participation due to the specificity of the race.

Participation is considered valid, if the registration has been made and the payment has been completed electronically within the announced deadline.

Due to the closed type of the route and for the best possible support of the participating athletes, the participations will be limited to 75 per race.

Participation Cost

The cost of participation of the race is as follows:

For registrations until January 5, 2025

• 6 hours : 40 €
• 12 hours : 55 €
• 24 hours : 80 €

For registrations from 6 January 2025 until February 5, 2025 (date of registration closing)

• 6 hours : 50 €
• 12 hours : 70 €
• 24 hours : 100 €

For all three events there will be the possibility of travel from Athens to Sparta and return by buses of the event at an additional cost of 15 €.

Transportation by bus from Athens

The bus will start from Karaiskaki Square (Metaxourgeio).

6hours

The bus will start on Sunday 16/02/2025 at 05.00 in the morning. The return for Athens will take place on Sunday afternoon at 18.00 and after the awards.

12 hours

The bus will start on Saturday 15/02/2025 at 10.00 in the morning. The return for Athens will take place on Sunday morning after 8:00 and after the end of the awards!

24 hours

The bus will start on Saturday 15/02/2024 at 10.00 in the morning. The return for Athens will take place on Sunday afternoon at 18.00 and after the awards.

Receipt of participation package

For the receipt of the participation packages for all 3 races, there will be a secretariat at the start of the race on Saturday 15/02/2025 from 12:00 noon and until 16:15. For the 6-hour race will operate a full secretariat and on Sunday 16/02/2025 from 07.00 in the morning until 09.30.

Athletes support & catering station

At a specific and demarcated point of the route (near the start), the runners will be able to receive power and support. At this point there will be countertops of the event with water, electrolytes, coffee, tea, coca-cola, as well as fruits, nuts, sweet and salty snacks, etc.

Also during the 6-hour period will be given 1 lunch (pasta) to the runners, under the care of the event after 13.00. During the 12-hour and 24-hour race from 20:00 and until the end of the race there will be a hot meal (soup and pasta).

In the same area there will be available a table with a chair available to deposit their personal belongings. This space will be protected by squeamers awnings. You will be able to have escorts on your tables, who of course will not harass other runners, and of course will obey the directions of the event. Escorts will be able to provide support to the runners only at this point. Any assistance-accompaniment of the athlete to a point other than the designated points results in the automatic cancellation of the athlete who receives it.

In the same area and for the duration of the race there will be a team of physiotherapists with bench to offer help to anyone needed.

Awards

The awards of the games will be held for the races of 6 and 24 hours on Sunday 16/2 in the afternoon at 17:30 and after the final results come out. For the 12-hour race on Sunday 16/2 in the morning at 05:30 and after the final results come out!

All 3 races will be awarded the first 6 men and 6 women with a cup.

All runners will receive a medal no matter what time everyone decides to finish. Also all participants will receive a commemorative T-shirt of the race.

General Provisions

Races are governed by international regulations in place in indoor races, and the international regulations of the IAU (International Association Ultrarunners) are in force.

The route – the full cycle, is exactly 822 meters, and in this regard it has been certified by Mr. George Dousis – an international router certifier. So any performances and of course any records are legal and valid since the route of the races took place on a certified track.

Throughout the races, all 2 streams of Konstantinos Palaiologos will be closed, and the car traffic will not take place.

Each athlete has the obligation to have his participation number on the front of his blouse. The number is prohibited from being altered in any way.

For athletes alone there will be chemical toilets at the start. The escorts will be able to use throughout the race, the toilets that are inside the Municipal Stadium of Sparta.

For any objections to your performance or complaints you will be able to do them during the race and until the games are awarded. Any complaint other than the awarding of the games will be considered as non-eving.

In the reversal of the route there will be an intermediate time trial.

There will be screens in specially designed spots showing the live results!

There will be Live results with a special link, which will also go up on the website of the Association of Spartan Runners (https://www.spartanrunners.gr) and other running websites of the country.

In case a runner violates the rules of the races or has inappropriate behavior towards the other runners and organizers, the organization bears the right to expel him from the race!

The Athlete, through the acceptance of the statement of good health and the terms of participation under his registration, accepts the applicable regulations, respects and obeys the suggestions of the organizers, the security officers and the judges of the race.

The event in cooperation with Voluntary Rescue Teams will take all necessary measures for the safety of athletes and the provision of first aid in case of need.

Cancellation policy
If an athlete cannot participate in the race, he/she should inform the organizers by email at the following address: spartanrunners@yahoo.gr

In a request for cancellation until January 25, 2025, the full amount of participation in the race is refunded. In a cancellation request after 25/01/2025, the amount is non-refundable. Refunds will be made exclusively on the same credit/debit card used to pay the participation.
In case the race is canceled for reasons of force majeure beyond the control of the event until January 25, 2025, the full amount is refunded. After that date, the option will be given either a refund of 50% of the registration amount paid or transfer of the registration to a subsequent event.
