Do you think that the distances of running competitions are terribly long? Why not finish with all the best earlier! Do you really have to start training to participate in a running event?
In fact, running is the most universal, easiest way to move, and there should be no restrictions here! If today is not the day you are ready to run 5 km, then run less. Run slower. Run as much as you can and can.
And by the way, it’s totally OK to walk.
The Marathon100 Donut Run is an event without the limitations of a traditional running event. Want to run less? Great! Want to run more? Great!
The shortest distance of Estonia’s first donut run, or mini-donut, is 670 meters. Suitable for everyone. No need for trim abs or a subscription to a running magazine.
The basic distance, or basic doughnut, is 4 km. It’s not 10 km. It’s not even 5 km. It’s 4 km.
If you want to run more, you can do that in the donut run. The distance for the big donut is a half marathon and the distance for the giant donut is a marathon.
Where?
Donut Run takes place in Tallinn The Sõõrikujooksu trail is a 670-meter-long, almost perfect circle, or light-traffic trail that runs around Õismäe Pond. There are no inclines on the trail. There are no right-angle turns on the trail. It is impossible to get lost on this trail.
If you come by car use Ring Spa (Õismäe tee 130), Nurmenuku kindergarten (Õismäe tee 26) or Õismäe gymnasium stadium (Õismäe tee 50) as a destination. If you come by public transport, exit the bus at any Õismäe tee bus stop (Nurmenuku, Kullerkupu, Karikakakra, Rukkilille, Meelespea, Sinilille), all of these are 300 meters from the event center.
When?
Estonia’s first donut race will take place on July 20th.
We open the event office at 9.00. Starting times are:
9.45 670 m kids run and mini distance
10.00 4 km main distance
11.00 21,1 km and 42,2 km
4 km equals six laps, 21.1 km equals 31.5 laps, 42.2 km equals 63 laps.
If you like running more, sign up for two distances. Two distances. Twice the experience. The “Small Kringel” includes consecutive distances of 4 km and 21.1 km, the “Big Kringel” includes distances of 4 km and 42.2 km.
So, run for exactly as long as your heart desires and you want to.
To clarify: children can also take part in the 670-meter distance. Of course. The Mini Donut is not a classic children’s race, meaning adults can also participate.
The number of participants for each distance is limited, and the entire city won’t fit on the 670-meter circle, so register early.
The Donut Run is the third race in the Marathon100 series. If you take part in multiple distances, only one of them will count towards the series. 4 km, 21.1 km or 42.2 km.
After the run
When finishing you will receice a Donut Run medal and of course a donut. If you run 670 m or 4 km you will get 1 donut, 21,1 km runners will get 2 and marathon runners 3 donuts. If you want more then you can get additional donuts from the event center (1 euro/1 donut).
Prizes
Prizes (100, 66, 33 euros) are drawn randomly so every participant has the same chance of winning. Prize winners will be announced before the half marathon start around 10.45-10.50. Income tax will be deducted from the prizes.
Three fastest men and women of 4 km, 21,1 km and 42,2 km will receive Donut Run trophies and of course, donuts. 4 km prizing ceremony will take place around 10.45, 21 km around 13.00 and 42,2 km around 15.30-16.00.
In case of questions send an e-mail to run@marathon100.com
